Finding my spark again - this is how Sol Sista Collective began.
I’m Britt James - photographer, surfer, wife + mum of two and founder of Sol Sista Collective.
In 2020, during the chaos of postpartum life and COVID lockdowns, I felt completely lost. Somewhere along the way, I’d disconnected from myself beneath the noise of everyday life.
Everything shifted the moment I paddled out into the cold ocean swells off the Surf Coast.
The ocean became my reset. My ritual. My way back to myself.
But with all that time outdoors came another frustration - dry, sun-stressed skin and beauty products that never seemed to fit my lifestyle. Everything felt too greasy, too messy, too complicated or filled with ingredients I didn’t feel good about using every day.
So I started dreaming about something better.
High-performance SPF and skincare that felt beautiful on the skin, naturally driven and genuinely designed for women who live outdoors.
That idea became Sol Sista Collective.
A modern approach to Outdoor Beauty™ - created to protect, nourish and support skin through ocean swims, long beach days, morning walks and everyday life outside.
More than anything, this brand is a reminder that beauty can feel simple, natural and empowering. That time in nature isn’t selfish - it’s essential. And that when women feel confident in their own skin, they reconnect with who they really are.
Sol Sista Collective was built from that spark.
